The Advanced Catalyst Workshop id your opportunity to be in on a productive experience filled with high-yield, time tested statistics concepts and hand-picked STATA programming skills that promises to take your large database analysis research to the next level. The Advanced Catalyst Workshop is open exclusively to participants in the Online Catalyst Workshop and is your gateway to mastering advanced statistical techniques and real-world STATA programming for large database analysis research. If you have not yet attended the Online Catalyst Workshop, there is still time to do so and become eligible to register for the Advanced Catalyst Workshop. You can know more about the workshop, register and stream the videos any time at www.onlinecatalystworkshop.com.
The Advanced Catalyst Workshop will take you beyond the basics to uncover powerful methods for analyzing NIS, NRD, NEDS and the other HCUP databases and producing research that turns heads. These include multiple imputation, survival analysis including Kaplan-Meier Curves, propensity matching, longitudinal trend analysis over several years, the details of the National Readmission Database (NRD) and how to correctly code for it using STATA and much more. By the end of the workshop, you will have the skills and portfolio to produce high-impact research, strengthen your CV, and stand out as an exceptional candidate in the match.
Past attendees consistently credit it with helping them publish in high-impact journals and earn abstracts, oral presentations, and awards in national/international meetings. This in turn helped them match in fellowship, become chief residents and get promoted to assistant or associated professor.
The content has been carefully curated and refined over more than 9 years of participants' input. It is the same material that allowed me to have a first author publication in "Gastroenterology" (Impact factor 21) (see it) and a senior author publication in "Hepatology" (impact factor 14) (see it) in 2018, as well as in "Chest" in 2020 (impact factor 11) (see it) and in Circulation Heart Failure in 2021 (impact factor 10) (see it)
If you are applying for residency or fellowship or if you are looking to climb the academic ladder, then this workshop has been made specifically for you. Register now while seats are still available

The workshop curriculum includes the following topics: - How to use the National Readmission Database (NRD) - Multi-year longitudinal analysis with NIS/NRD/NEDS: TRENDWT files ,ICD-9/10 codes adjustments, how to control for temporal changes across the years, how to account for inflation over the years using the consumer price index, how to generate trend p values, how to compare two trends over the years (interaction term use in regression analysis) - How to use multiple imputation to account for missing data - How to use propensity matching to account for confounders - How to do survival analysis, Kaplan-Meier curves and cox regression analysis - How to cheat STATA and shorten the databases to make calculations faster without losing accuracy - How to change hospital charges to hospital costs, calculate hospital volumes and find the most common diagnoses in a study population - All the above commands will be in STATA do files that are ready to use. In addition, we will go over the complete do file of a research project using NRD and that has been published in Gastroenterology, the number one GI journal in the USA by impact factor. Each participant will receive: - Access to all the lectures and hands-on sessions for 2 days - 16 AMA category 1 CME credits - The complete STATA program (do file) of an already published article using NRD - Free access to STATA for the duration of the workshop - Download and keep all lectures, hands-on sessions handouts and extra material as well as ready to use STATA do files for the commands used. - Complimentary access to ThinkBig, the private online large database analysis research communitye.
